AUS vs BAN Match Preview:
Australia Women will meet Bangladesh Women in the third and final ODI of the Bangladesh Women tour of Australia 2026 on 14 October at Allan Border Field, Brisbane, with the match set to begin at 9:20 AM IST. Having won the first two matches, Australia have already secured the series and will now look to finish the contest with a convincing 3–0 clean sweep. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will aim to improve their overall performance and end the tour on a positive note against a formidable Australian side.
Bangladesh produced a competitive batting effort in the second ODI on 11 October, scoring 220/6 in their allotted 50 overs. Sobhana Mostary led the innings with her maiden ODI century, scoring 118 off 134 balls, while captain Nigar Sultana remained unbeaten on 74 off 114 deliveries. However, Australia’s bowlers limited the damage, with Megan Schutt claiming 4/36 and Kim Garth adding 1/35. In reply, Australia chased down the target with remarkable ease, reaching 222/1 in just 28.1 overs to secure a nine-wicket victory. Georgia Voll delivered a commanding unbeaten 131 off 97 balls, while Phoebe Litchfield supported her with 71. Their dominant partnership ensured that Australia completed the chase with plenty of overs to spare.
Australia will enter the final ODI as clear favourites after demonstrating their superiority with both bat and ball throughout the series. Voll and Litchfield have established themselves as a formidable opening combination, while Schutt’s four-wicket haul highlighted the hosts’ bowling strength. Nevertheless, Bangladesh can draw encouragement from the impressive 195-run fourth-wicket partnership between Mostary and Nigar, which helped them recover and post a respectable total. To challenge Australia, however, Bangladesh must prevent early batting collapses and build partnerships from the beginning. Moreover, their bowlers need to strike during the powerplay and break Australia’s partnerships before the batters take control. Although Australia look well placed to complete the clean sweep, Bangladesh will hope to produce a more disciplined performance in the series finale.
