Expect the second Test between England and Pakistan to be a close contest as well when the two sides lock horns at The Rise Bowl stadium in Southampton on Thursday. In the first Test, while chasing the target, many hopes were shattered when Stokes departed.  It looked like Pakistan are running away with the win. But a 139-run partnership between Buttler and Chris Woakes won the match for the home team.

Jos Buttler departed with 21 runs still to win by Yasir Shah, prompting the promotion of Stuart Broad. Broad too departed with four runs remaining but the lucky Woakes got a thick edge as the ball rushed towards the gap to see the English side burst with joy.

England showed resilience in the second innings, which proved that they can bat deep down the order. It also should be understood that their second innings batting performance came against a Pakistan side, who were top-notch with their bowling performance, and thus they were the better team and deserved to win.

Pakistan will be hot on their heels and challenging England. There would be pressure on captain Azhar Ali after his failed performances which has landed him in scrutiny. It could be expected that Fawad Alam find and it that case their is also a bit of possibility that Ali loses his spot in the eleven.

The batting line-up can be a mix of England and Pakistan with the bowling favouring the visitors side. Babar Azam, Shan Masood, Dominic Sibley are must in the side. With Ben Stokes unavailable for England, Zak Crawley might find a place in the eleven but he is not someone you want to gamble on.

Jos Buttler was terrific in the first Test and he can be picked up as the lone wicket-keeper batsman. Joe Root is under pressure and has not get going to his full potential. This might be the match where he looks to most of his lost form.

In the bowling department, James Anderson might miss out. Stuart Broad, Jofra Archer, Yasir Shah, Shaheen Afridi can be relied on.
