The Hyderabad Cricket team represents the state of Telangana in the Indian domestic cricket. The team is run by Hyderabad Cricket Association and plays its home games at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Talking about Hyderabad cricket team's history, the team was formed in the year 1931. Hyderabad is the third team in the Ranji Trophy history to win the tournament. It won the first of its two Ranji Trophy titles in 1937/38 season with a thrilling one-wicket win over Nawanagar in the final.
50 years after its debut title, Hyderabad won the Ranji Trophy again in 1986-87 season. Hyderabad has also finished runners-up in the Ranji Trophy on three occasions. They last played the Ranji Trophy final in 1999-00 season.
In 1987-88, they also won the Irani Trophy with a win over the Rest of India side. The team is yet to win any major competition in limited-overs cricket. Their best performance came in 2009-10 season whey they qualified for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy final.
