Faf Du Plessis Snubs Jasprit Bumrah As He Picks Top Four Bowlers For ICC World Cup 2023

Former South African cricketer Faf du Plessis picked the top four bowlers for the ICC World Cup 2023. The Proteas legend left out Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and instead picked Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav as two Indian bowlers. 

Apart from Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav, Faf du Plessis picked Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada as the other two pacers, who will be the leading bowlers in the ICC World Cup 2023. The tournament will begin on 5th October in India. 

It’s fair to say that bowlers will play a crucial role in the tournament and the team that has a good bowling attack no doubt will be the favorites. Almost every side has a threatening bowling lineup and it’s fair to say that it’ll be a great challenge for the teams on flat decks. 

Faf Du Plessis pointed out that Mohammed Siraj will be lethal if wickets will be offering anything. He added that Trent Boult along with Kagiso Rabada will be successful as well. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained: 

“I think it depends on the wickets. You know, if the wicket has got something in it, someone like Siraj who just nibbles the ball a little bit both ways, and he’s trying the off stump the whole time. Boult and Rabada, all those kinds of guys are going to be extremely successful.” 

Faf du Plessis also noted that if the wickets will favour spin then Kuldeep Yadav will be extremely dangerous as he spins the ball both ways. He added: 

“But if there is a little bit of spin, you know, someone like Kuldeep has bowled really well in the last six months. When he gets his tail up and he gets one wicket, you know, the next batter’s coming in, he’s quite tricky to face his first few balls because he spins the ball both ways.”
