Former South African cricketer Hashim Amla has named his four semifinalists for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023, which is set to be played in India. Hashim Amla included his team South Africa and hosts India among the potential top four teams in the tournament.

Hashim Amla Predicts Four Semi-Finalists In World Cup

In a recent interview with iol.com.za, Hashim Amla stated that India, Pakistan, South Africa, and England are the most likely teams to reach the semi-finals of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

“I’ll go with India, Pakistan, South Africa, and England,” said Amla.

In the last edition of the ODI World Cup, India and England reached the semi-finals, while South Africa and Pakistan did not make it to the top four. Australia and New Zealand are notably absent from Amla’s list of contenders to make it to the semi-finals.

Most Of Them Would Be Used To The Buzz – Hashim Amla

Hashim Amla offered advice to South African players on dealing with noise in the stadium during the tournament, especially when facing the host nation at venues like the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

“The loudest noise is the one in your head. So, you’ve got to keep track of what your thoughts are, keep pulling yourself to the moment of what needs to be done, and then succeed in that moment,” Amla added.

“Playing in India is going to be amazing for them. Some may not have, some may have experienced it, having played IPL. I would think most of them would be used to the buzz and excitement, which was not there 10 years ago,” he added.

The Proteas clinched a series victory against South Africa in the five-match series at home. Temba Bavuma’s team bounced back to win the series despite losing the first two games.
