    India Squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Schedule 2023, Match List, Team List. ICC World Cup 2023 is all set to commence on October 5. India is the host of the tournament. The Indian team will face Australia in their first match of the ICC World Cup 2023.

    10 teams will battle for the trophy in ICC World Cup 2023. They are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, and Netherlands.

    ICC World Cup 2023 takes place in a round-robin format. Hence, each team will play 9 games during the tournament. After the conclusion of the first round, the top four teams in the points table will squad for playoffs.

    India will face Australia in their first encounter on October 8. In their last match of the league stage, India will lock horns with the Netherlands on November 12.

    India has already named their squad for ICC World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma is the captain of the team and will lead the team for the first time in an ODI World Cup. Hardik Pandya has been named Sharma’s deputy.

    India will bank upon batters like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul who have shown fabulous form in recent times. In the bowling department, Japsrit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj look dangerous with their pace attack. Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin attack for India.

    In the previous edition of the ODI World Cup in 2019, India reached the semi-final where they lost to New Zealand. As a result, the men-in-blue could not reach the final and grab the trophy.

    If we take a glance at India’s record in ODI World Cups, the team has won the title twice. India won the trophy in ODI World Cup 1983 under skipper Kapil Dev and ODI World Cup 2011 under captain MS Dhoni.

    During the first round of ICC World Cup 2023, India will face nine other teams once.  They will play their opening clash against Australia on October 8 (Sunday).
