Pakistan Cricket Team have started their preparations in full flow for the ICC World Cup 2023. A day after arriving in Hyderabad, India, they hit the ground running to get in the groove for the tournament, getting used to used to conditions and weather.

While all the batters and bowlers of the Pakistan team had a fair amount of session, what caught the attention of many was the net bowler that they roped in. The Babar Azam-led side called up lanky U19 Hyderabad pacer Nishanth Saranu.

Nishanth Saranu, who is 6 feet 9 inches tall, was seen steaming and bowling some good deliveries to Pakistan batters. His turn came after Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi were done with their spells. The lanky pacer bowled to opener Fakhar Zaman and the tailenders of the team.

Nishanth Saranu said that he currently bowls a pace of 125-130 kmph and Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman told him to increase his pace as he can then do wonders. The lanky pacer also revealed that Morne Morkel, who is the bowling coach of the team, also had a chat with him. Speaking to PTI, he explained:

“I currently can bowl up to 125-130 kmph. Morne (Morkel) sir asked me to increase my pace. He also inquired if I would be available to bowl at the nets of IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants. My aim is to have a career in both white and red ball cricket. So, the immediate goal is to represent Hyderabad at the first-class level.”

Pakistan received a grand welcome as they arrived in India. Many fans gathered there and cheered for them at the Hyderabad airport and chanted “Babar Babar”, and “Shaheen Shaheen” and even the players themselves were overwhelmed by the welcome. They shared stories on their Instagram handles, expressing their gratitude to Indian fans for the warm welcome.

Pakistan will be heading into the tournament as one of its favorites. They have played quality cricket over the past few years and with them having the best fast bowlers, they can rattle any opposition.
