The 34-year-old India National Cricket Team batsman Virat Kohli is all set to rejoin the squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 very soon as he was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport.

India’s two warm-up matches against England and Netherlands were washed out due to rain and now the Rohit Sharma-led side are set to take on Australia in Chennai on October 8 in their World Cup opener.

According to Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli is set to fly from Mumbai later in the night and then travel to Chennai with the entire contingent on Wednesday, October 4.

The batting maestro didn’t travel with the team to Thiruvananthapuram for the warm-up game against the Netherlands, instead, he had left for Mumbai from Guwahati due to some personal reasons.

Virat Kohli To Travel With The Team To Chennai Tomorrow – Reports

A spokesman from Team India said that Kohli will join the squad later in the evening and will travel with the team to Chennai tomorrow for the match against the Australia National Cricket Team.

“He will be joining us later in the evening and will be traveling with the team to Chennai tomorrow,” a spokesman for the Indian team stated on Tuesday evening, as quoted by Cricbuzz.

According to the same report, Virat Kohli has an important engagement with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and he set to attend it before traveling to Chennai.

Meanwhile, the captains’ photoshoot is set to be held on Wednesday in Ahmedabad where all the skippers of the teams are set to be available. A total of 10 teams will take part in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Eight teams qualified for the 46-day event through the Cricket World Cup Super League standings while the rest of the two spots were decided after the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.

India, South Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, England, Bangladesh, Australia, and New Zealand qualified based on Cricket World Cup Super League standings while Sri Lanka and the Netherlands qualified after the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
