The Babar Azam-led team has come under fire from legendary Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram after Pakistan lost a series against England in their backyard on Sunday.

The seventh Twenty20 International in the bilateral White Ball Series was placed at the Gaddafi Stadium, and Babar’s Pakistan team was severely outplayed by Moeen Ali’s England. The team without Jos Buttler crushed Pakistan by 67 runs to defeat the home team 4-3 in the series.

Former Pakistani captain Akram, one of the sport’s most distinguished fast bowlers, criticized the Babar-led team after England’s bowlers took advantage of Pakistan’s middle order’s frailty in the series finale. Hosts Premier batsmen Babar and Mohammad Rizwan were cheaply dismissed during Pakistan’s poor run-chase of the enormous mark set by England, and the team was unable to mount a comeback.

“If you are chasing and 2 wickets have fallen, lost in 10 overs. Nobody will care. They will support you. The crowd will support you, and the people of Pakistan will support you. But playing like this. Nobody is going to support you. Winning and losing is part of it. We all understand. I agree, but At least lose with some bravery,” Wasim Akram said.

“What’s the point if you scored 56 runs or 60 in 2 overs after losing 2 wickets And you are chasing a 201-run target,” Akram continued.

“If I were Babar Azam, I would have sent a message through the coach) – get out in 12 overs, I want you to try and win the game but that didn’t happen, that’s the problem,” Wasim Akram concluded.

Star batsman Dawid Malan scored a brilliant 78 in 47 balls for England in the series-deciding match, while Harry Brook added a critical 29-ball 46 to help the visitors reach 209-3 in 20 overs.

The hosts could only produce 142-8 in 20 overs as Chris Woakes and Reece Topley of England defeated Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan in the powerplay, and the Green Army went on to lose the game by 67 runs.
