T20 cricket has changed the game in a number of ways, and many Indian cricketers are changing the design of their bats in accordance with TOI.

If you look extremely closely at the bats used by players like Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant, you’ll see that the bottoms of them have distinct curves. The person responsible for this is MS Dhoni, and this modification improves power-hitting.

According to TOI, Pandya and Pant’s mentor Dhoni suggested they use round-bottomed bats to improve their T20 performance.

“Dhoni was the first to use this type of bat prior to the 2019 World Cup.” And now, these Indian players have begun to request this type of bat,” said Paras Anand, managing director of leading sports equipment manufacturer Sanspareils Greenlands (SG).

It’s really challenging to grasp the nuances of the concept, particularly in this day and age when players have access to a variety of range-hitting techniques.

“These bats were specifically ordered for shorter formats. The players contend that it facilitates their ability to access the entire ground when making shots. A bat with a flat bottom forces players to adopt a more closed stance, but a bat with a round bottom allows players to adopt a more open stance, which makes it easier for players to control the bat right away,” Anand said.

MS Dhoni was captain when India won the first T20 World Cup in 2007:

In 2007, MS Dhoni was chosen to captain India in the inaugural World T20. Against Scotland, he made his leadership debut, but the game was postponed. Then, on September 24, 2007, he led India to win over archrival Pakistan in the ICC World Twenty 20 final in South Africa, becoming only the second Indian captain to have won a World Cup in any form of cricket, after Kapil Dev.

In limited-overs forms from 2007 to 2017 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014, MS Dhoni, a former Indian international cricketer, led the Indian national cricket team. He led India to three ICC trophies—the most of any Indian captain—in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2011 Cricket World Cup, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
