India vice-captain and opener KL Rahul, was disappointed in the present T20 World Cup semi-final at the Adelaide Oval versus England since he left the game in the second over after only hitting five runs. Right-handed hitter chased a wide delivery from Chris Woakes and gave a straightforward catch to Jos Buttler as a result.

This was Rahul’s second participation in a World Cup semi-final, and he once again failed to connect. Earlier in the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, Rahul was out for one.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal between India and England is of utmost importance since the winner of this game will play Pakistan at the MCG on November 13 in the championship game. English seamer Chris Woakes dismissed KL Rahul in his first over after England won the toss and decided to bowl first.

KL Rahul managed to score just 5 runs in this game after appearing to find his form during India’s previous games against Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Rahul was duped by a bouncer and edged the ball toward the keeper, giving England their first wicket. Here is how Twitter users reacts to KL Rahul’s underwhelming performance.

Speaking of the game, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli added 47 runs for the second wicket after KL Rahul’s early dismissal, and as we write, Rohit Sharma has just lost his wicket after getting 27 runs off of 27 deliveries. Indian team has scored 57 runs after 9 overs, while Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are at the crease.

“We would have batted first anyway”: Rohit Sharma

England won the toss and chose to bowl first in current India against England game.

India did not alter their starting lineup, while England did, inserting Phil Salt and Chris Jordon in place of the injured Dawid Malan and Mark Wood.

“We would have batted first anyway. We’ve played some good cricket, another opportunity for us to play the same way we have all tournament. Important to hold your nerve and take the game till the end. We’ve played these guys a fair bit in recent years and know what strengths-weaknesses they have.”

“Important to exploit that. Important to stay calm and do what we want to do. It (the injury) was a scare but I’m fine now. With the kind of talent we have, it was a tough one (to pick the XI). Same team for us” Rohit Sharma remarked.
