Openers: Rohit Sharma (C) & Mohammad Rizwan

Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Rizwan should be openers of the this team. Mohammad Rizwan is the top-ranked batsman in T20Is currently. He finished as the top run-getter in the previous T20I series against England. However, he should only be an opener and not a wicketkeeper for the team.

Rohit Sharma performed well in the previous T20I series against South Africa and Australia. Sharma will also be a better captain than Babar Azam. Sharma and Mohammad Rizwan will make up a powerful set of openers for this India-Pakistan combined XI team.

Middle-Order: Virat Kohli & Suryakumar Yadav

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav should be the middle-order batsmen for this team. Pakistan’s middle order is quite weaker than India which was clearly visible during Asia Cup 2022.

Virat Kohli slammed a T20I century recently and also played match-winning knocks against South Africa and Australia. Suraykumar Yadav won the man of the series award in the previous T20I series against South Africa. Hence, these two players will be good options for middle-order batsmen.

All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya & Shadab Khan

For the all-rounders, the India-Pakistan combined XI team should rope in Hardik Pandya and Shadab Khan. While Pandya will be a pace all-rounder for the team, Shadab Khan will be a spin all-rounder. Hardik Pandya showed magnificent form in Asia Cup 2022 and IND vs AUS T20I series. Shadab Khan was brilliant during Asia Cup 2022 and also in the previous T20I series against England.

Wicketkeeper: Dinesh Karthik (WK)

Dinesh Karthik should be taken as the wicketkeeper for the India-Pakistan combined XI team. Karthik will also be an awesome lower-order batter for the team. The wicketkeeper-batter reaches a superb strike rate of 150+ or even 200+ while batting in the death overs. In the previous T20I series against Australia and South Africa, Karthik showed outstanding form smashing wonderful knocks.

Bowlers: Mohammad Nawaz, Arshdeep Singh, Shaheen Afridi & Haris Rauf

For the spinner, the India-Pakistan combined XI team should go ahead with Mohammad Nawaz. The three pacers should be Arshdeep Singh, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf. Since one spinner Shadab Khan is a right-armer, Nawaz will be a good choice as he is a left-armer.

In contrast to India’s Yuzvendra Chahal, Nawaz has performed better in recent times. In his previous series against England, the left-arm spinner grabbed 5 wickets in 7 games. Mohammad Nawaz was also the top wicket-taker for Pakistan during Asia Cup 2022.

Arshdeep Singh and Shaheen Afridi will make up a strong pace attack for India-Pakistan combined XI team. Both are left-arm pacers and have executed magnificent performances in their last appearances in the T20I series.

The other pacer should be Haris Rauf. The right-arm pacer emerged as the top wicket-taker for Pakistan in the recent T20I series against Pakistan with 8 wickets in 6 games. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel emerged as too expensive in their previous two T20I series, hence Rauf should get a preference in this team.
