Sunil Gavaskar, a former player for Team India, believes that when they play Zimbabwe on Sunday, November 6, in their final T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they cannot afford to let their guard down.

Gavaskar stated that Pakistan doesn’t have much room for error moving ahead after losing both of their Super 12 games.

“Yes, they must win their last three games by significant margins as well, and it won’t be simply because they face South Africa, another elite squad. India must use extreme caution when dealing with South Africa.”

“Now that Zimbabwe has defeated Pakistan, India must be very cautious when playing Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe’s success against Pakistan would inspire them, “ Sunil Gavaskar reportedly told India Today.

“I don’t think Pakistan is a bad team”: Sunil Gavaskar

After both games were close to the end, Pakistan fell to both India and Zimbabwe. In the blockbuster event, Sikandar Raza’s three-wicket haul handed them another loss after Virat Kohli’s 82-run performance cost them a victory in one of the games.

Sunil Gavaskar, a member of India’s World Cup-winning team in 1983, claimed that Pakistan hasn’t been able to maintain composure under pressure in crucial situations.

“In T20s, anything can happen. I don’t think Pakistan is a bad team, they have some quality players, terrific bowlers, and batters. But in this tournament, when it mattered, they haven’t been able to deliver,” Sunil Gavaskar added.

The 2022 T20 World Cup campaign for Pakistan is in jeopardy. Pakistan is on the verge of being eliminated from the competition after opening-round losses to India by four wickets and Zimbabwe by one run.

Pakistan’s next Super 12 match is against the Netherlands on Sunday, October 30 in Perth.
