Suresh Raina, a former Indian batter, claimed that Team India needed to take note after the narrow victory against Bangladesh. At the Adelaide Oval, the Men in Blue defeated Bangladesh by a score of 5-runs in their Super-12 match in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
India scored 184/6 in their first innings after losing the toss and opting to bat first thanks to half-centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul as well as a quickfire performance from Suryakumar Yadav.
In an interview with AajTak, Raina emphasized that India will need to improve in the knockout rounds and insisted that their victory over Bangladesh served as a wake-up call.
“The way Bangladesh fought in this game, if the rain hadn’t delayed play, the game would have been to their advantage. The Indian bowling attack was bashed around in the first seven overs, which I believe was a learning experience for them. We may have won, but even Rohit confessed in his post-match press conference that Bangladesh was superior” Suresh Raina said.
“If Team India wants to improve, this is a wake-up call. They will have to do well in the semi-finals and finals since the teams they will face are strong “Raina stated.
“Top-5 batters are performing for India”: Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina stated that India’s top five batters are performing well and that KL Rahul’s scoring runs are a positive omen for the squad.
“India’s top five batters are on show. Rohit Sharma is also on a run. However, KL Rahul’s return to form is a very positive indication for Team India. We’ll be in the playoffs after just one game. Rohit is in terrific form, Rahul scored today, Virat Kohli is in good form, and Suryakumar is performing admirably. Hardik Pandya is also doing well at the plate “Raina elaborated.
After defeating Bangladesh, India will turn their focus to Zimbabwe on November 6.
