Pakistan’s vice-captain Shadab Khan was asked about the current slump in form of Pakistani batters During the post-match news conference.
Shadab Khan produced a memorable performance against the Netherlands on Sunday, managing to spin a web around the Dutch batsmen.
The Babar Azam-led Pakistan team was eager to get their ICC T20 World Cup campaign back on track when the Green Army faced the Netherlands at Perth Stadium after losing their first two Super 12 matches.
For the Green Army in game no. 29 of the T20 World Cup in Perth, all-arounder Shadab emerged as the preferred bowler. As Pakistan held the Netherlands to 91-9 in 20 overs, the great spinner dismissed players like Max ODowd, Colin Ackermann, and Tom Cooper.
Against the Dutch team, Shadab took three wickets and gave up 22 runs. For his all-around performance against the Netherlands, the Green Army’s seasoned player earned Player of the Match honors.
“He is a world-class player no doubt”: Shadab Khan
Shadab answered questions about Babar’s decline in performance at the T20 World Cup during the customary news conference that followed the game. Babar, who is regarded as one of the best batters in all formats, has had trouble finding his form in the Super 12 of the T20 World Cup.
In a statement endorsing the Pakistan captain, Shadab stated that Babar is just one solid blow away from silencing his detractors.
“He is a world-class player, without a doubt, but he is also a human being.” He makes mistakes from time to time, but he is our captain and our leader. He supported us, therefore we must now support him. “It’s only three games, and no one should be concerned about his form since he is a world-class player,” Shadab remarked.
“He’s only one shot away from returning back to form. He scored runs, much like Rizwan today. So let’s hope Babar scores in the next game. “The next game is a big game for the squad, so hopefully he scores runs,” he added.
On Thursday, Babar Azam’s Pakistan will face South Africa in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
