PAK vs NED: Shoaib Malik Believes Babar Azam's Technique Needs To Be Improved

Many cricket fans and experts have criticized Babar Azam’s performance, but Shoaib Malik believes he needs to work on his technique.
Pakistan won the T20 World Cup for the first time, defeating the Netherlands in Perth by a margin of six wickets. Pakistan earned their first points of the tournament with this victory.
Babar Azam was out for just four runs against the Netherlands in a Group 2 encounter of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday, failing to record any runs for the tournament.
The Pakistani cricket team’s skipper will try to turn things around in the upcoming games after failing to score even double figures in the competition thus far. Pakistan lost to India and Zimbabwe in the current T20 World Cup, therefore eliminating them from the competition. By four wickets, India defeated Pakistan, while the Babar Azam-led team was facing an upset against Zimbabwe.
“He has to make that adjustment”: Shoaib Malik
He scored a couple of fifties in the New Zealand series before the World Cup, but he also had a dry spell before that.
Shoaib Malik believes Babar has unable to adapt to the bouncy conditions in Australia.
“I would say he had to tweak his way of batting. Conditions were different there. In the subcontinent, when both feet are planted down, you can still play and manage. But in Australia, you need to be more decisive with the front or back foot.”
“How and when you transfer weight is also important. If you have come out on the front foot and it’s short of a length ball, it becomes too difficult to deal in Australian conditions,” Shoaib Malik told A Sports.
“The back leg becomes key, the weight has to go back a bit. The back leg needs to move a touch. He has to make that adjustment,” Malik said.
Pakistan faces Group 2 leaders South Africa and Bangladesh on Thursday and Sunday respectively in the remaining group fixtures.
