Afridi sustained the right knee ligament injury while fielding during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in July.

The medical staff has been receiving information regarding his care as well. Regarding Shaheen Afridi’s care, the PCB has complied with all recommendations made by the medical staff.
“The PCB medical team has been receiving daily reports over the knee injury status of Shaheen and we expect the bowler will be there with the national team to play against India on October 23 in the World Cup match,” PCB’s chief executive officer Faisal Hasnain told Dawn.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, who missed the Asia Cup due to a knee injury, is eager to return to his team.
