The T20 World Cup team for India has caused controversy online ever since it was released. While some people are happy with the squad, others are critical of the decision-makers for making a few odd choices.
Fans and professionals alike have shared their thoughts on the team pick, highlighting numerous strengths and faults.
The decision to exclude seasoned fast bowler Mohammed Shami has stunned many cricket experts. Since the squad only has Jasprit Bumrah as the only true pacer in the roster, several analysts have noted how his absence may endanger India’s T20 World Cup campaign.
I Will Not Watch Cricket Till A Fair Selection Process Is Put In Place: Tauseef Alam After Indian Squad Announcement
As supporters, we all want to see our favourite players selected for the team, thus it’s easy to comprehend reasoning like this when arguing in favour of a player’s participation.
However, for some people, playing cricket is just another way to get free attention. In an effort to remain current, they willfully make contentious statements that are completely devoid of cricketing logic.
The majority of people are calling for Shami’s inclusion because of his talent, but Tauseef Alam, a prominent Congress official, has added a religious dimension in order to gain popularity among his supporters.
In a Facebook post, Alam, a former MLA from Bihar’s Bahadurganj Assembly in the Kishanganj area, expressed his dismay at the national selectors’ treatment of Muslim players unfairly and their disregard for individuals like Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Khaleel Ahmed.
“I will not watch cricket till a fair selection process is put in place. Today, I am amazed how the selectors ignored players like (Mohammed) Shami, (Mohammed) Siraj and Khaleel Ahmed for the T20 World Cup,” read his Facebook post, written in Hindi.
Khaleel Ahmed, who hasn’t played for India in a while, being worthy of a spot in the T20 World Cup roster is evidence of his lack of cricketing expertise.
He probably was unaware that Shami’s name had come up during the interview, but he was passed over for the team because Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid chose Ravichandran Ashwin.
Many people think Shami deserves to be in the team, and we completely appreciate that opinion because it is grounded on cricket logic.
Sadly, the congressman did none of it. His main goal was to stir up a pointless argument.
Politicians ought to quit utilising any sport, including cricket, to gain political advantage.
