Rohit Sharma’s reaction after India’s thrilling win over Pakistan in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 said it all. The India skipper did with Virat Kohli what every fan and his teammate would have wanted to do. As soon as the former India skipper powered the team to an unbelievable win over the arch-rivals, his teammates ran onto the field and started jumping over him to celebrate.

Rohit was not an exception either. The opening batsman came running onto the field and lifted his teammate over his shoulders before twirling him like a child in a heartwarming moment. Both the batting superstars then shared a warm hug before Kohli started walking towards the boundary.

Virat Kohli’s stunning heroics:

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli played one of the best knocks of his career to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. Chasing 160 on a tough MCG pitch, India needed 31 runs from last 2 overs. Haris Rauf started the 19th over on a solid note, conceding just three runs in the first 4 balls.

And just when it looked like the match had slipped away from India reach, Kohli came up with two stunning shots for a couple of sixes. Those twin sixes brought down the equation to 16 runs off the last over. Mohammad Nawaz then began the final over on a good note too, dismissing Hardik Pandya on the very first ball before conceding just 3 runs on the next two balls.

At that stage, Pakistan were well on top before Kohli hit another six off a no-ball. India eventually reached the target on the final ball. Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 off 53 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 balls.

Following his knock, Virat Kohli went on to say that his latest T20I knock against Pakistan is the best of his career. He also made sure to thank the fans for their support.

“Till today Mohali was my best innings against Australia. Today I will count this one higher. Hardik kept pushing me. The crowd has been phenomenal. You guys (fans) kept backing me and I am grateful for your support,” said Kohli.
