In the third game of the ICC T20I World Cup 2022, West Indies and Scotland lock horns at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart.

This is the first game of Group B and will be played in Tasmania.

West Indies are the giants of the shortest format, The Caribbean nation has the most number of T20 World Cup trophies in the World.

Known for their big-hitting abilities, West Indies have clinched titles in the year 2012 and 2016 by defeating Sri Lanka and England respectively.

West Indies has won four of their last five T20I games. They played against the likes of New Zealand and Australia recently, losing both series, 2-1 and 2-0 respectively.

West Indies have gained the added advantage of getting used to the Australian conditions, on their recent tour to Australia.

Shimron Hetmyer was dropped after missing his Flight repeatedly despite warnings from Cricket West Indies Board. Shamarh Brooks has replaced him in the squad.

Scotland has been one of the re-emerging teams which have showcased brilliant performances in recent times.

Scotland exited the group stages in the year, 2007, 2009, and 2016. They were table toppers in the Round 1 fixture of the 2021 T20 World Cup, from where they raced through into the Super 12s.

Recently, New Zealand was on a tour to Scotland for two T20I games. Unfortunately, the home side lost both encounters by huge margins.

Scotland are placed 15th in the ICC T20I rankings at the moment.

The Richard Berrington-led unit will depend greatly on Calum McLeod, George Munsey, Michael Jones, and their skipper Berrington with the bat in hand.

Brad Wheal will look to bring his T20 Blast experience alongside upcoming stars such as Safyaan Sharif, Hamza Tahir, Mark Wyatt, and Josh Davey.
