Pakistan fast-bowler Haris Rauf has delivered a promising update on his shoulder injury that he sustained in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024). The right-arm fast-bowler suffered the injury during the PSL 2024 clash between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings last Saturday (February 24). After bowling his full quota of four overs, Haris Rauf injured his shoulder during fielding in the final over of the Kings’ innings.

On the second last ball of the innings, he attempted a running catch at long-ff. While the Pakistan star managed to catch the ball, he ended up falling awkwardly and hurt his shoulder.

Haris Rauf looked in pain immediately after the fall and was subsequently ruled out of the entire PSL 2024. The Qalandars later delivered an update on the bowler, saying that he will be requiring close to two months to fully recover from the injury.

“The medical panel, after consultation, concluded that he needs four to six weeks to recover, forcing him to miss the PSL season,” the Qalandars said in a statement.

While the Qalandars stated that Haris Rauf would need around four to six weeks to fully recover from the injury, the bowler has said he is hopeful of returning to action soon. In a video posted on social media, Haris Rauf could be seen sporting an arm sling and stated that his injury was not serious.

“They will see (my return) soon. Fortunately, it is not a serious injury. Hopefully, I will recover soon and I am currently focused on rehab. I will return soon,” said Haris Rauf.

With the T20 World Cup to be played in June, Haris Rauf would be hoping to recover soon and regain his best form. The fast bowler has struggled with his form in recent times and could face the axe for the World Cup. Recently, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also terminated his central contract for refusing to play the three-match Test series against Australia.
