Shreyas Iyer slammed a marvellous ton in IND vs AUS 2nd ODI to impress selectors and fans post his comeback. Shreyas Iyer arrived to bat at the no.3 batting position in the absence of Virat Kohli from the squad.

This is Shreyas Iyer’s first brilliant knock after returning to the national side during the Asia Cup 2023. The right-handed batsman earlier batted in two games but failed to come up with a good batting show. He got out for 14 runs against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 and 3 runs in the IND vs AUS 1st ODI.

However, Shreyas Iyer roared back with a fabulous knock against Australia in IND vs AUS 2nd ODI. The right-handed batter slammed 11 sixes and 3 sixes during his innings. Shreyas Iyer also etched a 200-run partnership with Shubman Gill in the match. In the previous game, Iyer lost his wicket for just 3 runs with a run-out, after a goof-up with Shubman Gill while sneaking a single.

Talking about IND vs AUS 2nd ODI, Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first. India lost opener Ruturaj Gaikwad cheaply for 8 runs in the 6th over. However, Gill and Iyer held their patience and arrived with valiant knocks.

In 30 overs, India crossed 210 runs on the board losing 1 wicket. India made one change to their playing XI from the last ODI. Jasprit Bumrah was dropped from the team for personal reasons and Prasidh Krishna was picked as a replacement.

India lead the series 1-0. Earlier, the men-in-blue won the 1st ODI by 5 wickets. Chasing a 277-run target in the match, KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 58 runs to drive the team to victory. Suryakumar Yadav also played a crucial knock of 50 in the match.
