Rohit Sharma all set to create a historic six-hitting record

India skipper Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of achieving a world record in cricket. The senior opening batter is just 6 sixes away from becoming the first batter in the history of the game to complete 600 maximums across all three formats of the game.

Rohit Sharma will have a massive chance to achieve the feat in the upcoming fifth Test against England, which will also be the last game of the series. The game between the two teams will take place from 7th March at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.

Rohit Sharma is currently the highest six-hitter in the history of the game. He sits at the top of the charts with 594 sixes to his name. He overtook Chris Gayle as a batter with the most sixes in international cricket during the ICC World Cup 2023. If he hits 6 sixes in the upcoming game, he will etch his name in the record books.

Rohit Sharma has looked in decent touch with the bat in the ongoing Test series against England. After getting out early in the first two games, the senior opening batter slammed a magnificent century in the Rajkot when the team was under pressure. He bailed his team out of trouble and helped them win.

In the last Test in Ranchi, Rohit Sharma hit a sensational half-century in the chase and helped his team win the game. His rollicking effort saw India winning the game and clinching the series by the margin of 3-1 with one match to go.

In the absence of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and other players, he has been the guiding light for the team in the Test series. India captain Rohit Sharma after the win in the Ranchi Test joined MS Dhoni in a massive feat for the Indian Cricket Team. He completed 298 wins for the Team across the format and joined the former skipper MS Dhoni, who also ended his career with 298 wins under his belt.

Rohit Sharma in terms of wins for India only has Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar ahead of him. Kohli has 313 wins under his belt whereas Tendulkar had 307 wins. With the way, the current skipper of the team is going it’s fair to say that he can surpass Sachin Tendulkar on the list.
