IND vs IRE: Paul Stirling Named Captain As Ireland Announce 15-Member Squad For India Series

Ireland Cricket Team has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against India. Paul Stirling will be captaining the team after former skipper Andrew Balbirnie stepped down from the post following team’s debacle in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers.

Ireland is all set to host for the three-match series later this month. The first game will be played on the 18th of August followed by the second and third games to be played on the 20th and 23rd of August. All three games of the series will be played at The Village, Malahide.

Apart from skipper Stirling, Andrew Balbirnie along with Harry Tector, Ross Adair will be boosting the batting department whereas there are quite a few all-rounders in the team for the three-match series against India.

Curtis Campher has made the cut into the team along with Joshua Little and keeper batter Lorcan Tucker has retained their place in the team. Whereas Neil Rock has been dropped from the team following a poor campaign in T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifiers.

Ireland after failing to qualify for the ICC World Cup 2023 displayed a decent performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifiers and booked their berth for the tournament, which is slated to take place in USA and Caribbean next year in June.

The T20I series against India will kick-start their preparation for the marquee tournament next year. The Irish men have played high-quality cricket in the past few years but haven’t managed to reach the goals. They would be looking to seal the series against India and give their home crowd something to cherish.
