The Sri Lanka national cricket team has entered the record books for an unwanted reason following their loss to India in the third and final match of the T20I series at home. The Sri Lanka cricket team, led by Charith Asalanka, has created the record for the most number of losses in the history of T20I cricket.

The Charith Asalanka-led team suffered a loss via Super Over during the final match of the T20I series. The match was played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, July 30. The home team faced a 0-3 whitewash against India, who were without Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the squad.

The hosts failed to chase down the target of 138 runs to record their first win of the series. The Lankan team managed to tie the match on the final ball of the 20th over. They failed to make an impact with the bat in the Super Over, scoring just two runs. India hit a boundary on the first ball of the Super Over.
