ENG vs IND: India’s Predicted Playing XI Against England, 2nd ODI

India is set to take on England in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series. ENG vs IND 2nd ODI will take place on July 14 (Thursday). The venue of the match is Lord’s Stadium in London. India is led by Rohit Sharma in ENG vs IND ODI series.

Jos Buttler is the skipper of England in the series. India defeated England in the 1st ODI by 10 wickets. Now, India needs to win the 2nd ODI to grab the series in their favour. Ahead of ENG vs IND 2nd T20I, here we talk about India’s predicted playing XI in the match.

India might keep the same playing XI in the 2nd T20I as well. Rohit Sharma is the skipper of the team in ENG vs IND ODI series and will lead the team in the 2nd ODI as well. He will also open the innings for the team. The right-handed batsman played a beautiful knock of 76 runs in the 1st ODI. He will aim to come up with a similar knock in the next game as well.

Shikhar Dhawan might be the other opener for the team in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. The left-handed batsman scored unbeaten 31 runs in the 1st ODI. He also supported Rohit Sharma well at the opening slot and made a partnership of 114 runs with him. Dhawan and Sharma will open the innings for the team in the next game as well.

Shreyas Iyer

Since Virat Kohli has not yet recovered fully and might miss the 2nd ODI, Shreyas Iyer will take up the one-down position in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI as well. In the 1st ODI, Iyer did not get a chance to bat and Sharma and Dhawan managed to get the winning runs for the team. Iyer will be gearing up for a good show in the next game. In his last ODI match against West Indies, the right-handed batsman slammed an 80-run knock.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav might be a middle-order batsman for the team in the 2nd ODI. The right-handed batsman did not get a chance to bat in the 1st ODI. In his last batting stint in the 3rd T20I against England, Yadav slammed a century to grab the limelight of all. Yadav will aim for a similar knock against England in the next game.

Rishabh Pant might be the wicketkeeper for India in the 2nd ODI as well. Pant did not get a chance to bat in the 1st ODI. However, he caught some brilliant catches behind the stumps. If he gets to bat, Pant will look to come up with a big knock. Pant will be a crucial middle-order batsman for the team.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya might be an all-rounder for India in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. Pandya did not get a chance to bat in the 1st ODI. He did bowl 4 overs in the match but did not manage to get a wicket. He conceded 22 runs in his 4 overs. Pandya will be a useful player for the team in both the batting and bowling departments.

Ravindra Jadeja might be another all-rounder for the team in the ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. The left-handed batsman did not get a chance to bat in the 1st ODI. He also did not get a chance to bowl with pacers crushing the England batters in just 25 overs. Jadeja has been in a good form and he will aim to come up with a good show in the next game.

Shami scalped 3 wickets to give a big blow to England. He bowled at an economy of 4.40. He will aim to attack with similar intensity in the next game as well.

Bumrah scalped 6 wickets for just 19 runs to grab the man of the match award. He will look to come up with a similar astonishing performance in the 2nd ODI as well.

Prasidh Krishna might be another pacer for India in the next game. With Shami and Bumrah dominating in the 1st ODI, Krishna managed to pick 1 wicket. In his 4 overs, he conceded 26 runs. In the next game, the right-arm pacer will look to grab more wickets in his kitty.

Yuzvendra Chahal might be the spinner for India in the ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. The 1st ODI was totally a game of pacers who picked all the 10 wickets of England. Chahal could only bowl 2 overs in which he did not get a wicket. In the next game, he might get to pick wickets in his tally.
