When will we next see Virat Kohli, the ruthless run maker? In the warm-up game the Indians played against Leicestershire, he gave us all a peek of his former self by scoring 33 and 67 in the two innings.

Virat the batsman hasn’t really dominated an international series in a while. However, despite being a cliche, the adage “form is temporary, class is forever” is always accurate.

While Virat Kohli the batter may draw a lot of support and criticism, experts, particularly those who have played the game themselves and are familiar with going through dry spells, consistently claim that it’s only a matter of time before the former India captain rediscovers his mojo.

There is no denying that Team India would benefit greatly from having an in-form Virat who is hitting all the right notes, especially with important matches in England and the T20 World Cup coming up at the end of the year.

Virat Kohli Is Already A Legend Of The Game: Mohammad Kaif

“He has seen the worst in the last couple of months. In the IPL – getting out the first ball, run out, struggling for form. This is a beautiful game, cricket, – you might be a great player of your era, a legend of the game, but you have to start from zero.  Virat has seen the worst, but I am sure things will change very fast, very quickly (for him).

“I don’t think Virat has anything (left) to prove to anyone. He is a legend of the game – 8000 Test runs (8,043), and 10000 ODI runs (12,311). He has been there and done that for India, so he is one of the legends (of the game) already,” Mohammad Kaif said on TOI Sportscast.

Virat continues to average 49.95 in Tests, 58.07 in ODIs, and 51.50 in T20Is despite not hitting an international century since November 2019, which has been the major complaint levelled at him by many. He continues to be ranked among the top 10 Test players and is third in ODI rankings.
