IND vs NZ: "He's Becoming A Liability, Show Him The Exit Door And Bring In Sanju Samson": Reetinder Sodhi Slams Rishabh Pant

Reetinder Sodhi, a former Indian cricketer, discussed India’s performance at the ICC event. He highlighted Rishabh Pant’s subpar performance in the game’s shortest format and that Sanju Samson replaces him in the starting XI.
Sodhi supported Sanju Samson to replace Pant in the Indian white-ball squad in an interview with India News before the One Day International (ODI) series opener against New Zealand.
With Suryakumar Yadav batting like a dream and Virat Kohli reclaiming his best form, the Rohit Sharma-led Team India entered the T20 World Cup’s Super 12 round as one of the favorites to win the competition. India won Group 2 in the T20 World Cup after defeating archrival Pakistan in the tournament’s opening match by outclassing nations like the Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe.
Team India, eager to break their ICC title drought, failed to live up to expectations in the T20 World Cup knockout stage. Team India, driven by Virat Kohli, was eliminated from the ICC World T20 after an embarrassing defeat to eventual champions England in the second semi-final. After scoring a disappointing 168, India was unable to take a single England wicket as Jos Buttler and Alex Hales experimented with their bowling.
Reetinder Sodhi backed Sanju Samson to replace Rishabh Pant:
Former Indian cricketer Reetinder Sodhi pointed out Rishabh Pant’s subpar run in the game’s shortest format when discussing India’s performance at the ICC event. Being a wicketkeeper-batter, Pant struggled to make consistent appearances for the Men In Blue throughout his time in Australia. In the second semi-final between India and England at Adelaide Oval, Pant scored six runs off of four balls.
“He’s turning into a liability for Team India.” Bring in Sanju Samson if this is the case. At the end of the day, you have to take that risk because you cannot afford to lose and be eliminated from World Cup or ICC events. Problems come when you offer too many chances. “The moment has arrived to give young guys opportunities,” Sodhi stated.
“Only time will tell how many opportunities he receives and for how long. Time is ticking away, and he needs to tighten his shoes. There is a limit to everything. You can’t rely on one player for too long. “You’ve got to show him the exit door if he’s not performing,” he added.
Pant has played 27 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 66 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for India, but power-hitter Samson has only played 26 international white-ball games for the former world champions.
