Indian Cricket Team registered a dominant victory over New Zealand in the 2nd T20I. The Men in Blue were quite aggressive in their approach as they hardly gave any chance to New Zealand. Suryakumar Yadav who is in the form of his life struck a fantastic knock of 111 runs in 51 balls where he smashed 11 fours and 7 sixes.

New Zealand would be in a state of shock as they didn’t put up a fight. They lost the match by 65 runs and were outplayed in all the 3 facets of the match. New Zealand would be well aware of the fact that India is missing some of its senior players.

Virat Kohli had tweeted on his twitter handle right after Suryakumar Yadav smashed a century. “Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him,” said Virat Kohli.

Suryakumar Yadav was asked about Virat Kohli’s tweet during post-match press conference. “Usko toh main ek compliment k tarah lunga aur try karunga ki aur acha kaise kar sakun (I’ll take it as a compliment and look forward on how to improve further.)” said Suryakumar Yadav.

Poor Performance from New Zealand

Chasing 192 runs is tough but the batters didn’t show any intent. The Black Caps weren’t able to handle the pace and swing due to which they were always behind the 8th ball. In the power-play overs, New Zealand managed to score only 32 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. Devon Conway too was seen struggling which was surprising as he has the knack of taking the opponent down.

The management needs to have some serious talks with Kane Williamson as his defensive approach is damaging the team. The skipper needs to quickly rediscover his mojo and play smartly rather than getting into a shell. It would be interesting to see whether James Neesham gets a promotion up the order as he is someone who can change the dynamics of the match.
