In the fifth and final T20I, India outclassed the West Indies with both the bat and the ball to win by an 88-run margin.

The Indian team, captained by Hardik Pandya, scored a respectable 188/7 in 20 overs before dismissing a helpless Windies side on 100. The team was missing first-team players Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja.

The former India star Pragyan Ojha expressed his displeasure at one of the player’s methods of dismissals in the game, despite such a fantastic performance.

Dinesh Karthik Would Be Unhappy With Himself: Pragyan Ojha

Dinesh Karthik of India was duped by a slower ball from Odean Smith and attempted a reverse sweep a little too soon. Karthik missed the line on a low full toss and was struck on the pad as a result. The umpire ruled the Indian hitter out without any hesitation. Ojha claimed that there was no need to play such a shot when simple runs could be obtained by using a straight bat after being dismissed.

“It is not as if you can’t score runs easily. When you are getting runs at the front when you can score with a straight bat, why do you have to try something like this? It was such a good chance for him. I think he will be very unhappy with himself after that shot,” Ojha said in the mid-match show on FanCode.

India won the T20I series against West Indies 4-1, and the team will play again on August 18 when it takes on Zimbabwe in a three-match ODI series. Karthik will most likely make a comeback to international competition at the Asia Cup 2022, which gets underway on August 27.
