Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim has said that he wants to see Suryakumar Yadav become a consistent match-winner for the Indian team. His words arrive after the right-handed batsman failed to score good knocks in the ongoing IND vs WI ODI series.

Suryakumar Yadav, who is a regular member of the team in white-ball cricket currently, failed to score runs in both two ODI games. He got out for just 13 runs in the 1st ODI and 9 runs in the 2nd ODI. The 31-year-old showed good form in prior India vs England T20I series, where he slammed a marvellous century in one game.

Want to See Suryakumar Yadav Become A Consistent Match-Winner For India: Saba Karim

Ahead of IND vs WI 3 ODI, former Indian cricketer Saba Karim talked about Suryakumar Yadav to India News. He said that he wants to see Yadav become a consistent match-winner for India. Karim also pointed out that Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t been able to make the most of the starts he got.

“I would like to see Suryakumar Yadav become a consistent match-winner for India. He scored a century in the T20I against England. But despite getting a number of chances (in ODIs), he hasn’t been able to make the most of the starts he got. This is not allowed in international cricket. When you have so much stroke-making ability, you need to make the most of it,” Saba Karim said.

The last 4 ODIs haven’t been great for the Indian batsman. Before getting out for 13 and 9 in the two ODIs against West Indies, he lost his wickets for 13 and 27 in the two ODIs against England. Although he got a good start to his batting, SKY has not managed to convert it into a big knock.

However, Yadav’s overall stats in ODIs are impressive. He has played 12 ODI games so far and scored 332 runs at an average of 36.88. He has also hit 2 half-centuries. Now, he will aim to come up with a good knock in IND vs WI 3rd ODI.
