India captain Rohit Sharma, during his half-century knock against the West Indies in the first T20I at Tarouba in Trinidad, went past New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and became the leading run-getter in T20Is. Just 2 days before, Rohit Sharma was leapfrogged by Guptill in the list after his knock against Scotland.

The home team has brought in Shimron Hetmyer, India played 3 spinners including Ravi Bishnoi to partner Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Rohit was on 20 when he hit his 2nd six of the day to go past Guptill. The veteran NZ batsman would have had a chance to defend his top spot had he been included in the playing XI in the ongoing T20I against Scotland.

India finished on 190/6 thanks to Dinesh Karthik’s 41* in 19 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and Ashwin’s 13* and their 52* partnership in 25 balls.
