Arshdeep Singh made his much-awaited return to the Indian T20I team in the ongoing first match of the five-match T20I series between West Indies and India which is being played in Trinidad on July 29, 2022.

Arshdeep had been missing in action since making his T20 debut in England due to an injury and team management decisions, but many ears got the good news of him coming back into India playing XI. Rohit Sharma lost the toss and Nicholas Pooran invited the Men in Blue to bat first in what is the first T20I match on the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba.

Rohit Sharma top-scored for India with 64 in 44 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Suryakumar Yadav opened the innings with Rohit Sharma and looked decent for his knock of 24 runs with 3 fours and 1 six. Shreyas Iyer fell for a duck, while Rishabh Pant made 14 runs and Hardik Pandya fell for 1 run.

Arshdeep Singh Gives India Their First Breakthrough; Gets Kyle Mayers Out

India opened the bowling with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh and while Kumar went for a few runs, and the West Indies had added a quick 22 runs in 1.3 overs, Arshdeep proved to be the difference at the beginning.

Mayers had made 15 in 6 balls with 2 fours and 1 six before Arshdeep Singh bowled a slower bouncer to the left-hander as he tried to advance and hit him over the off-side. However, the pace of the ball fooled Mayers, and merely went for the cross-batted shot as a reaction.

The ball went in the air and was caught by Bhuvneshwar Kumar running in from midwicket.
