Shikhar Dhawan, an Indian cricketer, praises Rohit Sharma for being an outstanding opening partner. Dhawan, who just became the skipper to lead India to a convincing victory over the West Indies in their backyard.
The left-hander, who is 36 years old, was given the captaincy reins for the ODI series against West Indies in the West Indies. He led the team to a 3-0 series victory and finished with 168 runs scored, placing him second in the series behind Shubman Gill with an average of 56 and two fifty-plus runs.
After speaking with TimesofIndia.com before the ODI tour of Zimbabwe, Shikhar could be seen in action.
Dhawan is ready for his upcoming undertaking, in which he will serve as the vice-captain of India. Dhawan was first given the captaincy, but as soon as KL Rahul passed his medical examinations, he was designated Rahul’s replacement.

TimesofIndia.com spoke with Shikhar Dhawan for an exclusive interview and asked him about The way you and Rohit batted in the first ODI versus England recently was another reminder of how well the two of you gel as openers. You also scored 5000 runs as a gap pair in One-Day Internationals. Would you consider Rohit to be one of the best opening associates you have ever had, or would you give that honour to someone else?
Shikhar Dhawan stated, “It is a huge milestone in both of our careers, and 9 years on, we have got a really strong bond and friendship.” We have been playing together for so long that we have gotten to know one another’s game and are always looking to help one another in the nets or on the field.”

On August 18, 20, and 22, the KL Rahul-led Team India is slated to play 3 one-day internationals in Zimbabwe. India will visit Zimbabwe for the first time in six years on this tour. The last time India toured Zimbabwe was in June and July of 2016 when Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in charge.
