One of the core members of the Chennai Super Kings franchise over the years, Trinidadian Dwayne Bravo, could not hide his excitement – to join the rest of the members of the Chennai-based franchise in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Interestingly, with the help of the Right to Match card (RTM), CSK managed to retain the services of the Windies post their two-year hiatus owing to the suspension regarding IPL fixing saga in 2013.

Since the decision to dissolve IPL outfits in the form Rajasthan Royals and Super Kings was made, Bravo represented the now-defunct Gujarat Lions, in the last two editions of the tournament under former teammate Suresh Raina.

Bravo was an integral part of CSK’s triumphant campaigns in 2010 and 2011 edition respectively.

“I’m happy, blessed and honoured to be retained by the Chennai Super Kings. I’m very happy and excited to be back in Yellow. To all our CSK fans eagerly waiting… this IPL we are back!” stated Bravo according to CSK’s official website.

With his credentials at the death with the ball, electric fielding and ability to tonk the ball a fair distance coming down the order, Bravo went for a substantial amount of INR 6.4 crores.

However, the CSK owners did not hesitate to bring out the RTM and as a result, Bravo now has the chance to join the likes of captain Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina Murali Vijay and Faf du Plessis, who formed the nucleus of the CSK franchise over the years.

“Personally, it is the best franchise that I have ever played for and I’m looking forward to it and meeting up with our captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, (Ravindra) Jadeja and also to the newcomers who are now going to be new members of our family. Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu to just name a few guys who are going to join us and wear the Yellow jersey… can’t wait!” further augmented the allrounder.

“The return of Chennai Super Kings to the IPL is a big one, a special one, a moment that a lot of people were waiting for. Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in IPL history. Definitely, IPL without Chennai Super Kings, it didn’t have the same impact it had in the previous years,” commented an excited Bravo.

“I think the return of CSK, you know, Dhoni again representing Chennai Super Kings, being the leader, the fan base, the fan following that we have in India and outside of India, they mean a lot. It’s a mega club, it’s a mega franchise, it’s a mega team… it’s a well loved team worldwide,” concluded Dwayne Bravo.
