The 7th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Gujarat Titans (GT). The match between the two heavyweights took place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (26th March). 

Chennai Super Kings registered their second win in the Indian Premier League as they thumped Gujarat Titans by 63 runs. They were exceptional with the bat and ball and made sure that they gave their home crowd everything to cheer about.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were off the flying start with the bat, having been asked to bat first. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra came out all guns and made sure that they took their team off the flying start at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad (46) and Rachin Ravindra (46) added 62 runs for the opening partnership. They played sensational strokes all over the park and made sure that they put the opposition under pressure right from the start with their attacking approach. 

Ajinkya Rahane (12) couldn’t make most of the opportunity as he perished early. But after that, it was all about Shivam Dube. The southpaw made a mockery of the Gujarat Titans spinners and slammed them all over the park. He brought up a brutal fifty that made sure the Chennai Super Kings scored runs quickly in the game. 

He scored 51 runs off just 23 balls, batting with a strike rate of around 222. Daryl Mitchell (24*) and Sameer Rizvi (14) played decent with the bat as well. Based on the vital efforts from the bat, Chennai Super Kings posted a total of 206 runs on the board. 

For Gujarat Titans, Rashid Khan picked up 2 wickets for 49 runs. Whereas Sai Kishore, Spencer Johnson, and Mohit Sharma bagged one wicket each. Every bowler from the GT had an economy of over 9.

CSK vs GT, IPL 2024 Match 7- Gujarat Titans innings: Pacers help Chennai Super Kings wrap up GT for 

Gujarat Titans didn’t have a good start to their innings as they lost Shubman Gill (8) early. But at the other end, Wriddhiman Saha (21) played crisp shots and made sure that he took his team off the blazing start in the game against Chennai Super Kings. 

However, after that Gujarat Titans kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Impact player Sai Sudharsan (37) held the one end but he didn’t get the desired support as Chennai Super Kings pacers kept taking wickets at regular intervals and took the game away from GT. 

Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tushar Deshpande picked two wickets each. All-rounder Daryl Mitchell and Matheesha Pathirana also bagged one wicket as they restricted Gujarat Titans to a total of 143/8. They won the game by 63 runs marking their second consecutive win of the season.
