Following his standout performances at the 2023 ODI World Cup, Madushanka secured a lucrative contract worth Rs 4.6 crore with the five-time champions. The left-arm pacer took 21 wickets in 9 matches at an average of 25, including a best figure of 5/80.
Madushanka’s injury leaves a void in the Mumbai Indians’ pace bowling department. However, they have alternatives, like Jason Behrendorff and Nuwan Thushara. Behrendorff will provide a left-arm option to strengthen the team’s bowling lineup in the IPL 2024.
Jasprit Bumrah’s resurgence in prime form has provided a major uplift to the franchise following outstanding displays in the recent Test series. His partnership with Gerald Coetzee promises to fortify the team’s bowling unit further for the upcoming challenges.
