Mayank Yadav to join Jasprit Bumrah for T20 World Cup? Manoj Tiwary drops huge statement

Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary batted for the inclusion of young Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the Delhi pacer seems to be in full control of his bowling and will deliver on the big stage.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has impressed one and all with his magnificent bowling in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The fast bowler, who is just two games old in the league, has already made many go gaga with his performances.

Mayank Yadav, who is known as Rajdhani Express, has been delivering thunderbolts in the IPL and is making everyone excited with his bowling. Rarely do we get to see when Australian batters looked clueless against pace and Mayank made sure that he did exactly that and made Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green dance to his tunes in a game between RCB and LSG.

Mayank Yadav made his debut against Punjab Kings and since then he has made almost everyone talk about him. He returned with the figures of 3/27 in his maiden game and helped his team win the game from the jaws of defeat. The fast bowler also won Man of the Match on his debut.

Mayank Yadav then came to with an even better performance in the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The fast bowler made a mockery of the opposition team and returned with the figures of 3/14, winning another Man of the Match. What has been impressive is along with his pace, he has been consistent with his lines and lengths.

With Mayank Yadav delivering two back-to-back match-winning performances, there have been many calls related to his inclusion in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the India squad. The tournament will be played in the United States of America and the Caribbean in June, just after the IPL 2024 ends.

Manoj Tiwary said that if he was in the shoes of Ajit Agarkar he would've picked Mayank Yadav in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad. He highlighted his control with the ball and stated that getting an overseas batter out would've given him a lot of confidence. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he stated: 

"If I was in Ajit Agarkar's position I would put him in. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami and then him. Looking at Mayank's form, action and release it looks like he is in control and it feels like if you give him a bigger stage, he will deliver. With IPL where many overseas players do come in and get them out, your confidence will also go up."

I feel that he should play international cricket after IPL - Virender Sehwag on Mayank Yadav

Virender Sehwag, who was also present in the discussion, pointed out the difference between Mayank Yadav and Umran Malik. He stated that the SRH pacer was quick but he didn't have control over his line and length. 

With Mayank Yadav, Virender Sehwag believes that the pacer is aware of the importance of lines and lengths and he added that LSG fast bowler should play international cricket after the IPL. He added: 

"The difference between Mayank and Umran is that his lines are accurate. Umran was also quick but he wasn't able to improve on his line and length. Mayank's lines and lengths are accurate. He is well aware that he has the speed but if I get my lines wrong then I could concede boundaries. Just for that alone I feel that he should play international cricket after IPL if he remains fit."

Mayank Yadav will be next seen in action when Lucknow Super Giants will take on Gujarat Titans in their next game on 7th April.
