South Africa pacer Nandre Burger, who is playing in his debut IPL season this year for the Rajasthan Royals, did not like the treatment of his national team senior Anrich Nortje. Burger’s Rajasthan teammate Riyan Parag, who was adjudged as man of the match last night, had thrashed Nortje for 3 fours and 2 sixes, which eventually helped RR post 186 as the target for Delhi Capitals. DC in return, failed to chase down and lost by 12 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Half of the reason for Rajasthan’s victory was Riyan Parag, who after 6 years of Indian Premier League exposure, was able to deliver his most iconic knock. As he scored his highest-ever individual score and took Rajasthan to 180+ from a tricky situation, first-timer Nandre Burger complimented the batter with the ball in hand.

Burger was on the target in the initial overs. After being smacked for a six and 4 in the first over against Mitchell Marsh, the left-arm pacer responded with his wicket in his second over. Burger cleaned up the stumps with a raging in-swing delivery and a ball later, he used a fiery bouncer to remove number 3 Ricky Bhui. The duo played an imperative role in the win but Burger also expressed his anger at Riyan Parag after the win.

Nandre Burger expresses unhappiness but says he is glad to have Riyan Parag as his teammate

While speaking in an exclusive chat, Nandre Burger firstly expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Riyan Parag treated Anrich Nortje but also backtracked by saying that he’s glad Parag is his teammate. Burger then labeled that final overbeating as sensational.

“Thanks for batting so well, you gave me the chance to bowl. Without you, I wouldn’t have had the chance. Not happy you took on a fellow countryman. But I’am glad because you’re in my team. I tell you, that last over was sensational.” – Burger told Parag.

Then Riyan Parag had his say. The 22-year-old told Burger that his best-ever score came in the tournament after spending 6 years with the 2008 champions. Parag expressed his own satisfaction after scoring the half-century and revealed that he was planning for it.

“This is my sixth year, I was here since I was 17 and this is my highest score. So pretty pleased and that last over, I was planning it. So lovely when a plan comes through and comes to life.” – Parag said in response to Burger.
