'Pat Cummins outsmarted MS Dhoni' - Twitter reacts as Sunrisers Hyderabad thump CSK by 6 wickets

Fans on Twitter reacted after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) thumped defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets. The 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 took place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday (5th Apri). 

Sunrisers Hyderabad were on the top of their game with the bat and ball as were in control of the right from the start. They opted to field first and displayed a magnificent effort as they didn't allow Chennai Super Kings batters to settle, picking wickets at regular intervals. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad started the innings on high as they removed Rachin Ravindra (12) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (26) early. However, after that Shivam Dube (45) and Ajinkya Rahane (35) brought CSK back in the game and the platform was all set for the big total. However, skipper Pat Cummins and his men pulled back the things incredibly well. 

They gave away just 50 runs in the last 7 overs and restricted the opposition to a total of just 165 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Pat Cummins, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Jaydev Unadkat picked one wicket each to keep their team in the hunt at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Ahmedabad. 

Abhishek Sharma was the star for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the chase. Opening the innings, he came out all guns blazing to take his team off the flying start. He slammed 37 runs in just 12 balls, out of this 27 runs came in one over against Mukesh Choudhary. 

Travis Head (31) also chipped in with a handy contribution. Before Aiden Markram held the fort for his team. The batter slammed a vital half-century and got his team close to the target. After he got out, Heinrich Klaasen (10*) and Nitish Reddy (14*) took their team home with ease.

There was a time when SRH used to be quite boring to me, it was always their bowlers doing tough job & winning games for them with less totals but now SRH batting gives such fabulous entertainment right from top to 4-5.
