Rishabh Pant trolls his own team who's bringing him back to professional cricket

Rishabh Pant reacted to a fan’s comments who certainly did not like the way Delhi Capitals announced Pant’s return ahead of IPL 2024. The medical staff of the BCCI gave the green light yesterday to allow Pant to feature as a wicket-keeper batsman which will mark his return to the richest cricketing league in the world after missing the tournament last year.

As soon as the BCCI confirmed the development on its official website with a press release, Rishabh Pant started trending on social media. He will be returning to lead the Delhi Capitals for the first time since the 2022 season when DC finished 5th in the points table. The North-Indian outfit had a terrible season in 2023 where they finished 9th under David Warner’s captaincy.

“After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap on December 30th, 2022, near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for the upcoming TATA IPL 2024.” – BCCI’s press release read. 

What happened between the fan and Rishabh Pant?

The welcome back post of Rishabh Pant on Delhi Capitals’ official Instagram handle was questioned by a fan who didn’t like the way Pant was depicted. The creative post made by DC displayed Pant wearing the red and blue jersey along with his helmet and bat on his left and right hand.

That post had a backdrop of a Tiger, which is an emblem present in the Delhi Capitals’ crest. In that post, Rishabh Pant was shown as a gigantic figure who is stepping into the Arun Jaitley Stadium with one foot and the other out. On top of it was a two-word line, “Tiger returns”.

While many thought the post was amazing in terms of creativity by the one who made it, others had words of criticism. Among the many fans who commented on the post, was a fan named @div_yumm who expressed that he could have made a better social media post. His comment was so hilarious that Rishabh Pant himself had to acknowledge it.

The user wrote that he has a better creative edge than the DC social media team and that their Tiger returns post will trigger Rishabh Pant to get in his car and drive again. “Isse achha me banake de deta bhai, ye dekh kr wapis car chalane chal jayega wo (I would have made a better one than this. After seeing this, he will go back to driving his car)” – @div_yumm commented below DC’s Instagram post on Pant’s return.

That very comment intrigued 2 laughing emojis from Rishabh Pant who seemingly saw the funny side of it. Pant made the fan’s day who might not have expected him to even see his thoughts.
