Mumbai Indians bowling coach Lasith Malinga has insisted all is well in the Mumbai Indians camp. Rumors of unrest in the franchise have been doing the rounds ever since Rohit Sharma‘s wife Ritika Sajdeh rubbished Mark Boucher’s comments on the captaincy change.

Last year, Mumbai Indians signed up Hardik Pandya in a trade deal with Gujarat Titans. It was followed by the unceremonious sacking of Rohit as the captain and the appointment of Pandya as the allrounder. The decision invited severe criticism for the franchise as not only the fans but several former players also expressed their disappointment over the same.

Later, Mumbai Indians head coach Mark Boucher insisted that Rohit was removed as the captain only because of cricketing reasons. The former South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman said that the decision would help Rohit perform better as a batsman.

“It’s just more of a cricketing decision that was made and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy and score some good runs. He’s been captaining for ages and he’s done really well for Mumbai Indians.

Now he also leads India as well. It is that he walks into a place and there’s just cameras in it and he’s so busy and he hasn’t had probably the best couple of seasons of late with the bat but he’s done well as a captain,” Boucher had said.

However, Ritika was not impressed with Boucher’s comments and decided to react to them. Reacting to an Instagram video of Boucher’s comments, she wrote: “So many things wrong with this.”

Lasith Malinga denies unrest rumors in Mumbai Indians camp:

While many expected unrest in the Mumbai Indians dressing room this season, Lasith Malinga has said everything is fine. In a recent interview, the former Sri Lanka pacer stated that Rohit and Pandya are good friends. He also said that Pandya shares a good relationship with Jasprit Bumrah as well.

“Rohit and Hardik are good friends. He went to GT and won the IPL, then finished runner-up. So, he has good experience and he has a good bond with boom (Bumrah), Rohit. We have a good unit.”
