Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma mocked Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Mayank Agarwal with a flying kiss gesture ahead of the game between the teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the franchises is all set to take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday (27th March).

Mumbai Indians have reached Hyderabad ahead of their second game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Both the teams have been putting in hard yards ahead of the game and would be keen to register the win having lost their first games against Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders respectively.

The players of both teams were seen doing practice sessions together on the eve of the match. But it was skipper Rohit Sharma who stole the limelight with his antics. The former Mumbai Indians skipper was seen teasing Mayank Agarwal with the flying kiss gesture.

The pictures of that went viral on the internet within minutes:

For unversed, Mayank Agarwal received the flying kiss send-off from pacer Harshit Rana during the game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The batter first punished the bowler and slammed him for sixes and fours and all over the park. But it was the fast bowler, who had the last laugh.

As Harshit Rana removed Mayank Agarwal, the fast bowler went close to the batter and gave him a flying kiss before staring at him. The batter, however, didn’t react to it and took a long walk back to the pavilion while keeping his head down after getting dismissed.

Mayank Agarwal in that game scored 32 runs and provided his team with a flying start in the big chase. The batter played some magnificent shots in his innings and along with Abhishek Sharma (32) stitched a fifty-plus partnership against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.

After Mayank Agarwal got out, Heinrich Klaasen stole the limelight with his brutal innings. Sunrisers Hyderabad was down and dusted in the game. But he relieved the hopes of his fans with his sensational innings of 63 runs off 29 balls. He took the game to last over but couldn’t take his team home.

Harshit Rana fined 60% match fees for giving a send-off to Mayank Agarwal

After giving the aggressive send-off to Mayank Agarwal, fast bowler Harshit Rana was fined for breaching level 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct. The fast bowler breached two levels and was fined 10 percent and 50 percent of his match fees.

Releasing the official statement, IPL stated: “Kolkata Knight Riders bowler Harshit Rana has been fined a total of 60 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on March 23.”

“Rana committed two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He was fined 10 per cent and 50 per cent of his match fees for the two respective offences. Rana admitted to the two offences and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,”

Harshit Rana was the hero for Kolkata Knight Riders in that game as he defended 13 runs off the last ball and helped his team win the game. He took three wickets in the game.
