Suyash Sharma took the Indian Premier League (IPL) by storm last year. Kolkata Knight Riders handed him his maiden IPL contract and the Delhi spinner hit the ground running in the competition.
He made his IPL as well as T20 debut in IPL 2023 and impressed one and all with his bowling. On his debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Suyash Sharma registered figures of 3 for 30 in a match-winning cause. The youngster caught the attention with his variations as he troubled the batters with his googly, leg break, back spinner, and flipper.
He went on to finish his maiden IPL season with 10 wickets. After a promising campaign in his maiden IPL season, Suyash Sharma will be looking to impress in the forthcoming season of the IPL as well. The seventeenth edition of the IPL is scheduled to be played on March 22. Reigning champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament-opener.

Ahead of IPL 2024, Suyash Sharma revealed who is tougher to bowl to between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The 20-year-old faced both the batting stalwarts in his maiden IPL season and will be up against them in the upcoming season as well. During a podcast, he was asked the question and he went to pick Rohit Sharma as the tougher batsman to bowl to.
“I have dismissed Rohit Sharma but he is tougher to bowl to,” said Suyash Sharma while also explaining what makes him different than other batters.

Meanwhile, Suyash Sharma’s team Kolkata Knight Riders will also be desperate to have a good campaign in IPL 2024 as they eye their third title and first since 2014. The Kolkata-based outfit could not even make it to the playoffs last year. They will be boosted by the return of their captain Shreyas Iyer who missed the last season due to a back injury.
