Punjab Kings (PBKS) might have suffered a huge injury blow as their star batter Liam Livingstone had to walk out of the field during the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
He suffered the injury during the fourth over of LSG innings. On the fourth ball of the over, he suffered the injury while running on the field. In fact, he could not even get close to the ball and looked in pain straightaway after seemingly pulling his hamstring. He looked dejected as he walked over the boundary ropes to get medical help.
The England star could not return to the field and it would not be very surprising if he does not take any further part in the remainder of the game. He could also miss a number of games if the injury is serious. With the T20 World Cup to take place in June, Liam Livingstone would not be willing to take any risk with his fitness.

PBKS will be hoping that the injury is not serious and their star man remains available for them in IPL 2024 as they eye their first playoffs qualification since 2014. Talking about the ongoing game, LSG were on 55 for 2 in the 7th over at the time of writing this report.
The home side won the toss and opted to bat first. KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock added 35 runs for the first wicket before the former was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh for 15. 10 runs later, Sam Curran sent back Devdutt Padikkal to reduce LSG to 42 for 2.

In two games of IPL 2024 so far, Liam Livingstone has scored 55 runs. In his first game of the tournament, he scored an unbeaten 38 to take PBKS over the finishing line against Delhi Capitals before being dismissed for 17 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Last year, he had scored 279 runs with the help of two half-centuries. In 2022, the hard-hitting batsman had enjoyed a stunning campaign with the bat. He enjoyed his most prolific IPL season with the bat, scoring 437 runs with the help of four half-centuries.
