Punjab Kings (PBKS) leg-spinner Rahul Chahar won the battle against Lucknow Super Giants batter Marcus Stoinis in the ongoing game against Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Lucknow Super Giants batter Marcus Stoinis came out all guns blazing and played some gorgeous shots in his innings against Punjab Kings. He batted with positive intent and made sure that he scored some quick runs for his team at the Ekana Stadium in Lahore.

Marcus Stonis in particular targeted Rahul Chahar in the 9th over as he dispatched the second and third balls out of the park. But the leg spinner made sure that he took his revenge and he castled the stumps of the Australian all-rounder with a peach of a delivery.

Rahul Chahar bowled a flatter and quicker delivery that skidded through. Marcus Stonis tried to pull the ball away but he missed the ball completely. The ball went on to hit the leg stump and the leg-spinner was chuffed to bits. Here’s the video of his dismissal:

The all-rounder ended with an innings of 19 runs off 12 balls and also smashed 2 sixes in his innings, batting with a strike rate of over 158.

This was the second time Rahul Chahar removed Marcus Stoinis in the T20s. The batter has slammed 78 runs against the leg-spinner at a strike rate and average of 39 and 200 respectively.

With the wicket of Marcus Stoinis, Lucknow Super Giants lost their third wicket and were reduced to 78/3. Punjab Kings have made sure that even though they are getting hit for runs, they take wickets at regular intervals to keep the opposition under pressure and get in driver’s seat in the game.

Earlier KL Rahul, who is playing as an impact player, scored just 15 runs and was removed by Arshdeep Singh. Devdutt Padikkal (9) played some gorgeous shots in his innings but he too couldn’t carry on and lost his wicket early after a start at the home ground of the Lucknow Super Giants.

Nicholas Pooran hits Rahul Chahar for 6,4,6 in the

The jubilation of taking the wicket of Marcus Stoinis turned into agony for Rahul Chahar in the next over he bowled. Lucknow Super Giants stand-in skipper Nicholas Pooran took him to the cleaners and smashed it all over the park at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

On the first ball of the over, Nicholas Pooran dispatched the flighted delivery towards the deep mid-wicket area. It was a massive six and if this was not enough, he then followed it up with the boundary towards the long-on region.

The carnage, however, didn’t stop there as on the third ball of the over Nicholas Pooran slammed another six straight over the head of the bowler and made Rahul Chahar look clueless with his brutal power hitting.
