Hardik Pandya made his captaincy debut for Mumbai Indians on Sunday (March 24) in the game against his former team Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The India allrounder plied his trade for the Titans in the last two seasons of the IPL. After playing for Mumbai Indians from 2015 to 2021, he joined the Titans in 2022 and was appointed as their captain. In 2022, he led the Titans to their maiden IPL title before guiding them to the final in 2023.

However, the successful seasons did not stop Hardik Pandya from leaving the Titans to secure a sensational return to Mumbai Indians. Not only that, he also replaced Rohit Sharma as the captain of the team, a decision that did not go down well with many. Mumbai faced severe criticism from all around for the unceremonious sacking of Rohit who led the team team from 2013 to 2023.

One such video has gone viral on social media. In the video, Pandya could be seen talking to Jasprit Bumrah before Rohit joins the conversation. As soon as Rohit joined in, Pandya turned back and walked away. It was followed by an animated discussion between Rohit and Bumrah. According to the fans, Rohit and Bumrah ridiculed the Mumbai skipper after he turned back.
