Virat Kohli never shies away from expressing his emotions on the cricket field and it was very much evident on Monday (March 25) night after Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Punjab Kings to register their first win of the ongoing IPL 2024.

RCB started their campaign with a six-wicket loss against Chennai Super Kings last week. However, it did not take them long to bounce back and open their account in the ongoing season. Virat Kohli starred with the bat as the Bengaluru-based outfit won the game against PBKS by wickets.

The former RCB skipper was the only batter who managed to score a half-century in the game. The right-handed batsman, who scored 21 against CSK, led RCB’s charge with the bat after they lost the wickets of Faf du Plessis (3) and Cameron Green (3) inside the powerplay. The likes of Rajat Patidar (18) and Glenn Maxwell (3) could not do much either but Virat Kohli stood firm at one end.

He was eventually dismissed for 77 runs. The knock came off 49 balls and was studded with 11 fours and two sixes. After his dismissal, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) guided RCB to a thrilling win.

After the game ended, Virat Kohli showed his animated nature once again during the post-match presentation ceremony. As he was waiting for his turn to go and collect his Player of the Match award, he was seen shadow-batting with the microphone in his hands. Not only that, Virat Kohli was also seen showing some dance steps to someone.

Virat Kohli on his love relationship with RCB fans:

Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Virat Kohli opened up on his relationship with the RCB fans. The former India skipper expressed his admiration for the love and support he has received from the RCB fans over the years.

“It’s been going on for years (love story with fans at Chinnaswamy). People talk about a lot of other things when you play sport – achievement, stats, numbers. But when you look back it’s the memories you create. Rahul bhai in the change room says the same nowadays.

“When you play, play your heart out because you’re going to miss these times. The love, appreciation and backing I’ve received has been amazing,” he added.
