Virat Kohli doesn’t need any explanation as to why he is the most followed Indian athlete all around the world. Virat has over 250 million followers on Instagram and is the third most followed athlete on the planet. He overtook famous Brazilian striker Neymar Jr. and is behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Indian captain is majorly known for his aggressive playing attitude and his dedication towards fitness.

Virat Kohli has dominated world cricket for over a decade and has scored runs in every corner of the world. Virat is the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League and has scored 7263 runs from 237 games at an average of 37.24. The former Indian captain has dedicated his whole IPL career to the Royal Challengers Bangalore and has never changed franchise since the start of the cash-rich league.

However, despite being the leading run-scorer of the IPL, Virat Kohli is yet to win the first trophy of the cash-rich league. Royal Challengers Bangalore has been the franchise, who have had the likes of top international names such as Rahul Dravid, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, and Virat Kohli. However, the team in red and black has never been able to play as per their potential, which has been the major reason behind their dismal performance in the tournament.

Varsha Bollamma wants Virat Kohli to hold IPL trophy

Bangalore is the second home ground of Virat Kohli apart from his birthplace New Delhi. Many RCB fans just come to see Virat and one of them is Kannada actress Varsha Bollamma. Bollamma expressed her love for Virat during a public interview and stated that she wants to see Kohli holding the trophy.

Varsha Bollamma said, “Virat Kohli, holding that cup that is it. I started watching IPL for him and that is my only dream. This time he will win.”

Virat Kohli has been in blast form for the past 1.5 years. The former Indian captain was blessed with a baby boy earlier this month due to which he has been away from international cricket. Virat will once again return to action in the Indian Premier League 2024 and will represent Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB would be led by Faf du Plessis, under whom the Bangalore-based franchise managed to qualify for the playoffs in 2022 but were eliminated in the round-robin stage in the last edition.

Virat completed 2023 as one of the leading run scorers, with an average of 66.06 and 2048 runs in 35 games, including eight hundreds. Kohli was also named ICC ODI Player of the Year for his exceptional performance in the 50-over format over one year.

Royal Challengers Bangalore would be facing the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League 2024 opener. The CSK vs RCB match is considered to be an ‘El Clasico’ of the cash-rich league other than the CSK vs MI clash. The fans from both teams come out in numbers to watch the match, however, the cricket experts wait for the rivalry between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli.
