Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan are currently playing for their respective teams in the ongoing game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Both the star batters are good friends and their friendship goes a long way back. They first played together for Delhi before making it big in international cricket. For almost a decade, Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan remained an indispensable part of the Indian team.

In the past, both the players have opened up about their relationship on a number of occasions. A few years ago, Shikhar Dhawan had said that he and Virat Kohli are good friends on as well as off the field. He also opened up on how they love to have fun together.

“Yes, we are good friends off the field and we are same on the field too. Sometimes, he likes to be quiet so I give him that space,” Dhawan had told bcci.tv a few years ago.

“Once he comes and talks, I know he is up for some fun talk and we talk a lot, have fun and laugh. I feel it is very important that you are comfortable out there as that brings out your natural instincts,” he had added.

And the camaraderie between the two was evident once again on Monday (March 25) when Virat Kohli could not stop himself from laughing after spotting Shikhar Dhawan’s doppelganger on the giant screen during the game. Just one look at the screen was enough for Kohli to know that the man looked like his good friend and he just could not stop himself from laughing.

Talking about the ongoing game, Punjab Kings have posted 176 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. In reply, RCB were on 26 for 1 in the third over at the time of writing this report.
